Knees...

Mom says, "what did you do to your knee Missy"? And I really don't have any idea, all the sudden one day it just hurt to walk on it, so I hold it up and hop around on three. Mom seemed to know exactly what it was and after a week of rest and meds, I'm still not wanting to walk on it... she loaded me up in the new car and off to see Dr. Jim we went.
(No, we did not take James) Anyhow, mom was right, I did tear the crucial ligament in my knee and she said we have to stabilize it right away, so the other knee doesn't break leaving me totally crippled! So this week I'll be having knee surgery. Mom hasn't said anything to me, but My Aunt Rebecca wrote to some of our friend and yesterday I got mail!
People sent good wishes, orders for breakfast, and money! Wow! We are so grateful! Mom's been busy bringing up my crate and washing bedding and floors, preparing for my big day. I miss my walks with Jim. So if this helps me walk again, I will be happy! Thanks for thinking of me! Love, Miracle

In The Heat Of It All...

Yes indeed, it's summertime! We do love summer! I love hunting bees, Jim loves his swimming pool, mom likes taking us on adventures... but when it's HOT, we are not happy. We do our best to work our way around the heat, we still get our walks in...
However, we do missing being able to "GO" as in, on errands, as in, VEHICLE, with WINDOWS DOWN! So mom just takes us for a ride, with the air blowing on HIGH, and the window down just enough so we can smell the passing air!
Our old friend Jessie is staying with us for a couple weeks! She came from a local vet clinic, where her breeder surrendered her to be euthanized. Jessie was around 9 yrs old then, and was treated for heartworm, twice. She, herself, had been a breeder momma, birthing countless litters in her puppy bearing years. But now, at the age of 16, Jessie is just a queen. She has a great home and lives the good life of luxury, a girl like her, whose given so much of herself, deserves! It's nice to see Jessie again.
So all in all, it's a good summer so far, no complaining. We even got TREATS in the mail from Aunt Rebecca the other day! We love her very much. Until next time...

MY BIRTHDAY!

6 years ago, on March 10th, my mom picked me up on a transport, from Arkansas, along with my dad and three other dogs. We didn't know it at the time, but I stayed with mom. I am probably at least 7 yrs old now. We are not sure when my actual birth date is, so we celebrate it on the day mom got me. We have Little Debbie's every year! And I typically get a new outfit for the occasion!

Here is a pic of my 1st year here. It was taken on the one year anniversary of the day mom adopted me. I might have been 2 then.

On my 3rd anniversary, we pretended I was 4.

And this is from my 5th birthday, the 4th year I was here. I love my life here with mom and Jim. It's all good! I have tons of friends, and family and even FANS!

And as a surprise for my birthday this year, Aunt Rebecca sent me and Jim new collars! woohooo! I'm one lucky girl!

Surviving Winter

I do like fresh snow, yes indeed, I love to feel it on my belly, all cool and fluffy. I like to zip, zip around in it. I like to climb to the highest mound of it to go potty! I like to stick my nose up in the air to smell it, and I like to stick my head under the snow to sniff it. All in all, snow is a good thing in my book.
Me and Jim love adventures, no matter what the weather outside. What dog doesn't? We love the feel of our new sweaters Aunt Rebecca sent for Christmas. Even tho it's been a mildish winter here this year, we still had a few opportunities to wear them!
But no matter what's happening outside, we know when it's Sunday, cuz that's the only day mom makes BREAKFAST! And we LOVE eggs and all the fixins! I typically like to sleep in, in the mornings, however, there is one thing that can get me up and that's breakfast! Woooohaaa! Gimmie, gimmie!
And at the end of the day, when mom opens her bedroom door, no matter what time it is, me and Jim love to climb into bed and call it a day. Isn't life grand to be me?

A New Year!

I wanted to let you know, I have been busy! Just because my momma doesn't run the rescue anymore, doesn't mean we are just lounging around with nothing to do. Infact, we have fostered two dogs during the holidays! I can't say I'm always happy about that, but mom says we can't just let them die cuz there is no space?

Me and Jim are lucky, cuz we have Christmas everyday living with momma. We have the best toys and treats and get to sleep in bed every night. It's good life! And look what I got from Aunt Rebecca for Christmas! It's a new sweater for the chilly months in Wisconsin. It's really warm! I like it.
So, as we begin this new year, I want you all to know how much I appreciate that you come to my blog spot to check out what I've been doing. I have fun doing it for you... Happy New Year! Love, Miracle

The Way It Is...

It's all been good, I'm still enjoying the cool, fall weather, and sleeping against the heat duct in the bathroom, and when I'm not there, I'm outside hunting rodents! That's right... the bees moved on, and now I'm subject to hunting mice. I have been known to bring them in the house you know... Today, while all was quiet, mom got up and quietly shut the gate, locking Jim out of her computer room, and grabbed the broom and a bag for one slow moving mousie in our house! I suspect the posion slowed it down. I'm sorry I slept thru the action, but I'm sure mom was GLAD.

We have passed one season and we are moving into the next. So mom has been busy packing up the gardens, and the lawn furniture, and organizing the garage. I pretty much stay outta her way, unless she screams my name. We are actually loving the quiet and the additional space we have with all the dog rescue stuff outta here. We have 80% less worries now. It's merely the way it is... And, might I add? It's a good thing.
